PREP: 10 minutes | COOK: 0 minutes | YIELD: 2 x ¾-cup servings

Avoid alcohol’s unnecessary calories (and the fact that it lowers your ability to resist tempting holiday treats) by choosing this Clean cocktail instead. The addition of antioxidant-rich kombucha definitely makes it a smart sipper.

½ cup (120 ml) chilled all-natural, unsweetened raspberry juice, or berry juice blend

1 tsp (5 ml) brown-rice syrup or yacon syrup

1 tsp (5 ml) freshly squeezed lemon juice

Dash bitters

½ cup (120 ml) chilled organic, raw, unsweetened kombucha

½ cup (120 ml) chilled sparkling mineral water

Frozen raspberries, to garnish

Lemon zest, to garnish

Fill a cocktail shaker or small pitcher with a handful of ice. Add raspberry juice, syrup, lemon juice and bitters. Shake or stir until syrup has dissolved into juice. Add kombucha and sparkling mineral water, and gently stir to combine. Do not shake or you’ll be wearing your cocktail! Strain into two champagne flutes, martini glasses or cocktail glasses. Garnish with a frozen raspberry and a curl of lemon zest.
