    11⁄2 cups milk

    1 cup long-grain rice

    1⁄2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

    1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    3⁄4 cup heavy cream

    3 tablespoons granulated sugar

    1 cup mascarpone

    16 whole, unblanched almonds

    In a medium-sized saucepan, add the milk to the rice. Stir in the cinnamon. Bring to a boil, uncovered, over medium heat. Cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer until cooked through, about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Stir the vanilla extract into the heavy cream. Add to the rice, stirring. Continue cooking on low heat until the rice is tender. Remove from the heat.
    Stir in the sugar and mascarpone. Spoon into dessert dishes and chill. Garnish with almonds.
