A health-giving, nourishing tea, best drunk when you’re feeling a little under the weather and in need of a boost.
Makes 2 cups
1½-inch piece of ginger, peeled and grated
¼-inch piece of fresh turmeric, grated, or 1/3 teaspoon ground turmeric
2 tablespoons honey (or to taste)
juice of 1 lemon
Place the ginger and turmeric in a saucepan and add 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then take off the heat and add the honey and lemon juice. Taste, and add more honey if you think it needs it. Pour through a sieve into two mugs, squeezing all of the juices out of the grated ginger, and grated turmeric, if using, with the back of a spoon.
