    1 loaf Italian bread

    3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

    2 cloves garlic, finely chopped (about 1 tablespoon)

    Preheat oven to 375°F. Laterally split the loaf of bread. Whisk together the olive oil with the chopped garlic.
    Using a brush or a rubber spatula, generously slather both cut sides of the bread with garlic oil. Place garlic bread halves on a sheet pan or baking dish, and bake in center of oven until crisp and lightly browned, about 20 minutes.
    Cut each side of the bread into 4 pieces and serve.
