Ingredients

  • 16 ounces (452 g / 15.9 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup (113 g / 4 oz) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ounce (28 g / 0.99 oz) package dry ranch dip mix
  • ½ cup (50 g / 1.76 oz) grated Parmesan cheese
  • Freshly ground multi-color peppercorns, to taste
  • Pretzels, pretzel chips, crackers, and/or fresh veggies, for serving
  • Pro-Tips for the Perfect Dip
  • For the absolute creamiest texture, ensure your cream cheese and butter are fully softened to room temperature before mixing. This prevents any lumps.
  • This dip is even better when made ahead! Prepare it up to 2 days in advance and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Let it sit out for 20-30 minutes to soften before serving.
  • Elevate your dip by folding in ½ cup of finely chopped fresh chives or scallions for a fresh, oniony bite.

Method

  1. In the bowl of a standing mixer with a paddle attachment, combine the softened cream cheese, softened butter, dry ranch dip mix, and grated Parmesan cheese.
  2. Blend on medium speed for about 1 minute, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed, until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy.
  3. Transfer the dip into a shallow serving dish and spread evenly.
  4. Generously cover the top with a layer of freshly ground multi-color pepper.
  5. Serve at room temperature with pretzels, crackers, or fresh vegetable sticks.
  6. Don't be shy with the pepper! Grinding it fresh just before serving makes a huge difference in flavor and aroma compared to pre-ground pepper.
