Basic Baked Tempeh Patties
Per 1 patty
1 8-ounce package tempeh
1 cup vegetable broth plus 2 tablespoons
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 teaspoons sesame oil
Simmer tempeh in 1 cup water or vegetable broth for 10 minutes; drain well.
Whisk together remaining ingredients, including 2 tablespoons vegetable broth, and marinate tempeh for at least 1 hour or overnight.
Preheat oven to 375°F and transfer tempeh to a lightly greased baking sheet.
Bake for 10–12 minutes on each side.
